Kirk came on board after an ad was placed in the local "Blue Sheet" for a Director for hire. "The script was entirely different before I stepped on board. I had just completed a short film called "Life After" which was strictly dramatic in form and I saw this comedy as a way to show versatility as a director. So the writer and I had several talks about the structure and believability of the characters and we did several rewrites. From there we brought the Producer in and the rest is history"
The Short film, which is set in present day, revolves around a young man who rebels against the one thing he can't run from: his own family.
"I think it's a great blend! A coming of age story mixed inside a wacky Christmas party. And that's what attracted me to this story. That even though you will always have those people who will never seem normal to you, they are still a part of who you are, your blood". Kirk said recently during an interview.
